essential test of “what do we learn from answers to this question”. In Cllr
Margaret Pearce’s absence her emailed critique was taken into account.
Council decided to make all response boxes square. A note of the changes is
attached. The final draft, properly prepared in Keypoint, will be tabled at

3.4.1 |
The Clerk had approached Parishioner Phil
Page, Flying Colours and Multiprint for quotations, giving each the same
specification of an external cover in full colour, with scored edge for easy
opening; internal pages in black and white with shaded background to each
question; several pages of loose insert and a print run of 500. Parishioner Phil Page passed the
specification to Gloucester Litho who quoted £1,100. Flying Colours offered Spiral Binding,
being unable to meet the specification for the covers and quoted “between
£859 and £1,129”. This quotation was not given in writing and took several
phone calls to obtain. Multiprint quoted £721 for the full
specification. Noting that there may be an additional
charge if the questionnaire can not be provided in electronic form, proposed
by Cllr Richard Smith, seconded by Cllr Jean Foley and approved unanimously,
IT WAS AGREED to place the work with Multiprint up to a maximum of £750 plus
the cost of envelopes. |

Linton Parish January 2004 Questionnaire |
LINTON PARISH COUNCIL
BROMSASH, GORSLEY & LINTON

email: bga@mail.com Mr B G Atherton

Ross-on-Wye, HR9 7SU
Dear
Parishioners,
This questionnaire is the culmination of an extensive and lengthy process of consultation, including months of individual meetings and in particular the Community Planning Days which were held in the two village halls last June. The end result of all this work will be a Parish action plan, identifying what more should be done to make this an even better place to live, what needs to be changed and what must be preserved. But first the Parish Council needs to understand your interests, concerns, opinions, needs and priorities.
We appreciate the length of this questionnaire, but it is important that everyone has a chance to have their say. This is yours, so please do get involved by completing the questionnaire and encouraging everyone in your household to do so too. Because the questionnaire is anonymous, all answers will be entirely confidential so you can express your views freely. Please respond to as many of the questions as possible, but if you want to leave anything unanswered then please do so. When completed, the questionnaire should be sealed in its prepaid envelope and then posted back to us. Or, if you prefer, hand the sealed envelope to any Parish Councillor or the Clerk. The closing date for replies will be _________ .
There is a separate sheet for use by anyone who needs or can offer personal help: this sheet should be returned separately. If anyone has a problem with the questionnaire, or needs help to fill it in, please get in touch with me or any Parish Councillor.
The Parish Council will discuss the results in public meetings, hopefully achieving not only broad agreement on the issues but also on possible solutions. Then we will consult neighbouring Councils to compare problems, identify common interests and look for potential shared solutions. Thereafter, we will consult everyone again over the final list of issues and proposed actions before putting all the results into the Parish plan. With the Parish’s wholehearted support, it becomes your plan: a blueprint for action by the Parish Council and others, and the vehicle for obtaining grant aid towards, for example, improved public transport facilities and better local services.
Thank you in anticipation of your help with this important project.
Yours
Sincerely,
Brian Atherton
